With today’s economy, many people are looking for ways to supplement their income by working from home. A growing trend in the flower business are designers working from home studios. Because they are usually one person operations, they concentrate on fewer, but larger orders such as wedding flowers. Because they work from home, their overhead is typically lower than that of a traditional retail florist, they can be very competitive in their pricing and services. And their website becomes their storefront.
I came across an article in the Appleton Post Crescent about a woman who carved out a niche for herself by doing just that. After reading the article, I’m certain that many people thinking about getting into the floral business would benefit from reading her story.
