Easter Lily Plant Care Information
Easter Lilies (Lilium longiflorum) will flower under a wide variety of light conditions.
Keep the soil moderately moist. Water thoroughly when soil surface is dry to the touch, making sure to drain off any excess water.
Easter lilies do best in moderate temperatures, 65-70F (18-21C)during the daytime. Cool night temperatures (50-60F/10-15C) help to prolong blooming when kept indoors. Do not expose Easter lilies to excessively hot or cold areas.
To avoid staining the petals (or clothing) with pollen, remove the yellow anthers as the buds begin to open.
If you wish to enjoy your Easter lily in your garden, cut off the stems and leaves when they are no longer green. In mid-spring, plant the bulbs in a sunny area with well-drained soil. The time it will take to rebloom depends on your local climatic conditions and the size of the bulbs.
