Gloxinia Plant Care Information
Gloxinias (Sinningia speciosa), prefer moderately bright light (diffused sunlight), near a sunny window, but not exposed to direct sun.
It's soil should be moderately moist. Water thoroughly when soil surface is dry to the touch, making sure to drain off any excess water.
Gloxinias do best in warm temperatures, 70-72F (21-22C)during the daytime, 65-70F (18-21C) at night. Do not expose gloxinias to temperatures below 50F (10C). For the longest flowering display, locate the plant in a cool room or window where temperatures are near 50 to 55 degrees F at night.
Fertilize occasionly, according to manufacturer's directions.
Bright light will allow the small buds to develop and open, replacing older flowers. Insufficient light will cause newly opened flowers to be small and faded.
