If you want to make amazing lighted wedding centerpieces, you might want to take a look at this.
This short video will show how easy it is to create dramatic lighted wedding centerpieces using a tall cylinder vase, submersible LED lights, and a few stems of dendrobium orchids.
It’s a video I think you will truly like, especially if you love a centerpiece idea that’s versatile, quick, and easy to do. Take a look and see if you feel the same.
Pretty interesting, wouldn’t you say? You can see the dramatic effect that lighting can have on even the simplest type of flower arrangement.
Where To Find The Flowers You’ll Need
The dendrobium orchids and bear grass used in the centerpiece can be purchased online at BloomsbytheBox, GlobalRose, and Flower Explosion.
Pricing should be pretty similar on each of these sites. Choose one that sells the number of stems closest to the number you need.
Otherwise, order them from your local florist. You might pay a little more, but you typically won’t have as much waste.
When we work with bear grass at our shop, we order the pre-painted color we need. We avoid spray painting as much as possible unless it’s just an arrangement or two.
When you order bear grass, you’ll have to ask about getting it painted. It will cost more, but trust me, it’s worth it!
Where To Find The Floral Supplies and Vases
Suppose you’re planning on doing lighted centerpieces like this. In that case, the basic supplies you’ll need, like the crystal mesh ribbon, submersible LED lights, and the Deco Beads, can be found on our Amazon page. They are the same products that we use in our shop.
If it’s possible to rent your event glass, I recommend you do. Vases of this size are not overly expensive, but not everyone rents larger vases like these because of the damage risk. Be prepared to purchase the vases you need.

A Couple Of Other Design Notes
I prefer using Uglu dashes when attaching decorative accents to glass. Glass is non-porous, so the glue does not always adhere well.
If you are using a glue gun, ensure the vase is clean. Wiping the vase down with vinegar should do the trick, but test it just to be sure.
In addition, I’m a bit of a stickler regarding having a water source for fresh flowers. We often have to do centerpiece work like this several days before an event.
Even though dendrobiums hold up well, I’m not fond of replacing them at the last minute because I rolled the dice and didn’t provide a water source. Placing them in clear water tubes is what I do, and I recommend you do it as well.
