Using A Floral Pillow To Design An Arrangement

Using A Floral Pillow To Design An Arrangement

If you’re looking for an alternative to designing in floral foam, then you’ll want to check out this instructional design video using a floral pillow.

The floral pillow is a plastic cage inspired by the chicken wire mechanics commonly used before floral foam was introduced in the early 1950s. It offers a way to securely arrange flowers without using floral foam.

If you are a DIY floral designer or a seasoned pro, this quick DIY video shows you how easy it is to design using a floral pillow, even if you have never used one before.

It’s a video I think you are going to really like, especially if you want to take your floral design skills up a notch. Take a look and see if you feel the same way.

Good stuff, yes? Well, I thought so. This beautiful Flemish-inspired arrangement looked great in this large urn, and the floral pillow was the perfect armature for holding the large selection of flowers used.

And the best part of using a floral pillow is that it can be reused. Simply clean it up afterward and it will be ready to use again.

Where to find the flowers and supplies you’ll need…

And while we’re on the topic, most of the flowers used in this arrangement, including vendela roses, dill, fatsia, grasses, ruscus, malus, cymbidium, lisianthus, waxflower, skimmia, can be bought online.

You can purchase them at sites like GlobalRose, FiftyFlowers and BloomsbytheBox. These three are the ones that I’ve personally experienced.

There are other online sources that look really good as well, but I’m afraid I have no experience with them.

If you’re just creating a single arrangement and only need a small number of flowers and greens, I usually recommend buying them from a local florist. Always my go-to choice! πŸ™‚

The floral supplies that were used can be found on this Amazon page.

If you want to incorporate a few silk blooms, you can find an outstanding selection online at NearlyNatural, and at many craft sites such as Michaels and Hobby Lobby, or by ordering them through your local florist.

One quick bit of advice, if I may. If you are using silk flowers, I always recommend using fresh greens if possible, as it will keep your arrangement looking more lifelike.

With that said, let me tell you a little about myself…

This is Greg, the owner of Greenfield Flower Shop, and I’m really just here to share some incredible floral design instructional videos with you. That’s truly why I’m here. πŸ™‚

But I started this site for a completely different reason.

So before anything else, I’ve got something I need to get off my chest. Truth be told, the main reason this site exists is a selfish one.

You see, I’m always watching videos about flowers and floral design (like the “Using A Floral Pillow To Design An Arrangement” video you just finished watching).

And a cool site where I could re-watch my favorites and share them with others is really what I wanted.

I also recognize a good opportunity when I see one. I’m just being honest.

If it’s in my power to create an awesome blog that other people like as much as I do, and I can maybe even monetize it a little bit, then I really don’t feel the least bit bad about it.

I’m a pretty straightforward person if you couldn’t tell. But please hear me loud and clear…

I’m not here to sell anything.

If my sponsors happen to entice you with their offers, that’s great! But if you’re just not interested, all’s still well. I just appreciate your readership. πŸ™‚

Income or no, I just wanna share floral arranging tutorials with good people like you! πŸ˜‰

And that explains the existence of FlowersFloralFlorist. It’s basically a flower lover’s home for some really cool how-to videos.

It’d be great to see you here again if that sounds good. πŸ˜‰

So make this site one that you return to!

I’ll simply keep sharing incredible videos which focus on subjects including flowers, weddings, and plants… and loads more!
