How To Simplify Wedding Planning for Busy Professionals

Wedding planning can be a full-time job. If you’re a busy professional, the moment you said “Yes!”, your workweek doubled.

I recently came across this article entitled “Wedding help: How to balance work and wedding planning” from Sip, Bite, Go.

It’s a short, engaging, and informative read.

It spells out ways you can balance planning your wedding and career at the same time without losing your sanity.

It also emphasizes storyboards (aka “mood boards”) and their role in effectively helping you plan your wedding.

Why Use Storyboards?

When it comes to wedding planning, there are different types of brides. Some are armed with large folders full of ideas.

Some have nothing written down on paper and are seemingly clueless. Others are very meticulous and well-organized.

The one thing most brides do have in common is that they have difficulty visualizing how all of the elements of their wedding fit together cohesively.

Here’s Where Storyboards Help

Business professionals use storyboards to organize a project from start to completion visually. The same holds for wedding and event specialists as well.

For every larger event or wedding we do, we create a private board on Pinterest for that event to share ideas with our clients and staff, and use Google Keep for internal collaboration.

Today it’s no longer a daunting task to create and use storyboards because it can all be done online. When planning a wedding, every bride-to-be can also put these same tools to good use.

This site, StoryBoard Wedding will give you some inspiration to kickstart your own wedding storyboard.

Using Pinterest

Without a doubt, the online evolution of physical storyboards is Pinterest.

It has quickly become the largest online destination for everything about weddings.

Even if you are not using it now, as a busy professional, you will quickly understand why it’s a valuable time-saving tool in your wedding planning arsenal.

More and more brides and event clients I am working with share their ideas with me via Pinterest.

This article offers some good tips on how to effectively organize and use Pinterest in your wedding planning.

No matter what you call them, storyboards, mood boards, or inspiration boards, you should use one to gather and organize your thoughts and ideas.
